Key Purpose (Position Summary)
Understand the requirement, design the architecture or extend the designed architecture and develop the software systems needed for the company to use those internally or externally. This extends to building reusable web products with modern frameworks, from inception to working production
Key Expectations
- Writing clean, fast PHP to a high standard, in a timely and scalable way
- Producing detailed specifications
- Conducting analysis of website and application requirements
- Writing back-end code and building efficient PHP modules
- Developing back-end portals with an optimized database
- Troubleshooting application and code issues
- Integrating data storage solutions
- Responding to integration requests from front-end developers
- Finalizing back-end features and testing web applications
- Updating and altering application features to enhance performance
- Total understanding of PHP’s fully synchronous behavior
- The ability to integrate a variety of data sources and databases into a single system
Functional/ Technical Competencies
- Knowledge of PHP MVC frameworks like Laravel, and CodeIgniter
- Experience in SOA–based application development
- Knowledge in front-end technologies including CSS3/4, JavaScript, Ajax, XML, and HTML5
- Should have experience with designing and writing performant APIs
- Strong knowledge of RESTful Web Services and JSON
- Understanding of object-oriented PHP programming
- Previous experience creating scalable applications
- Proficient with code versioning tools including Git, Mercurial, CVS, and SVN
- Proficient in MySQL databases and all related SQLs
- Experience in common third-party APIs (Google, Amazon, Azure etc)
- Passion for best design and coding practices and a desire to develop new bold ideas
- Should have experience writing unit, automated and integration tests
- Managed DNS, Email, sFTP, shell accounts, SQL databases, security and site backups
- Ability to manage the project standalone
- Good problem-solving skills
